Sapich Bros Winery, Henderson, New Zealand
The Henderson Valley is one of the most prolific winemaking areas in New Zealand.
Located close to New Zealand's largest city, Auckland, the Valley has slightly warmer average temperatures and more regular light rain than most other regions of New Zealand, and has a mixture of loam soils over a clay base. This combination provides superb conditions for grape growth.
The Henderson Valley is best known for stylish red wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and blends such as Cabernet Merlot, and Cabernet Franc. It is also known for distinctive white wines such as Chardonnay and Chenin Blanc which differ markedly from those produced by vineyards further south.
